Mid-drive advantage

Not all 1000W motors ride the same

A hub motor pushes from the wheel. The FAT-HS mid-drive works through the bike’s drivetrain—changing how power, balance, and traction feel on demanding terrain.

Typical hub motor
FAT-HS mid-drive
Power delivered at the wheel
Power delivered through the drivetrain
Less climbing torque
Up to 160Nm of torque
Rear-heavy weight distribution
Balanced, low center weight
Less efficient on steep hills
Uses the bike’s gears for climbing efficiency
More wheel spin on loose ground
More controlled traction
Higher battery demand under load
More efficient power delivery

The same 1000W feels dramatically different when it is delivered through a mid-drive motor. More torque. Better balance. Greater control.

Questions, answered

All FAQ items are blocks. Add, remove, edit, and reorder them in the theme editor.

Why choose a mid-drive motor?
A mid-drive sends power through the bike’s drivetrain, so the gears can provide extra climbing leverage or higher speed. It also keeps motor weight near the center of the bike.
Does FAT-HS include two batteries?
One removable 48V 15Ah battery is standard. A second 48V 15Ah battery is optional.
How far can FAT-HS go?
With the optional second battery, the listed assisted range is up to 128 km (80 mi). Actual range varies with terrain, payload, weather, assist level, and riding style.
Is FAT-HS suitable for snow, sand, and mud?
The 26 × 4-inch Kenda fat tires provide a wide contact patch, while the mid-drive and 9-speed drivetrain help manage power across loose terrain.
What rider height does it fit?
FAT-HS is offered in 17-inch and 19-inch frame sizes and is recommended for riders approximately 5'3" to 6'4".
What should I know about the optional second battery?
Follow the supplied installation instructions. The manufacturer advises locking out the rear shock during second-battery installation to avoid damage.
